New York Fashion Week Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear

The Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week was held from February 11th to February 18th 2010 at Bryant Park in New York City. After 18yrs being the home of NYFW, this will be the last NYFW event held at Bryant Park. The NYFW will move to the New Lincoln Center in September.

The first day of NYFW, the bad news of Alexander Macqueen’s death broke out . Despite this news the show still went on and what a show it was.

For NYFW more than 100 designers showed their Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear collections. From over 100 designers I narrowed my picks to, my two favorite collections and highlights of the week.

Enjoy!!

Marc by Marc Jacobs

Inspiration: Military with an edge.

Overall: Marc Jacobs sent down the runway a collection that consisted of 59 versatile, fun and wearable looks, which many men and women will want to have.

Badgely Mischka

Inspiration: Galaxy
Overall: The red-carpet worthy collection consisted of beautiful embellish gowns that any women will like to wear.

Highlights:
Tommy Hilfiger

Inspiration: Preppy with a touch of sophistication.

Overall: The Tommy Hilfiger show was a special one not only because it was the last of NYFW, but the final one to take place at Bryant Park.
The Tommy Hilfiger collection is youthful and fun with a touch of sophistication.

Victoria Beckham

Inspiration: 1940s comic books of Dick Tracy

Overall: Victoria Beckham kept it very intimate, inviting only about 25 editors. She narrated each model that was being unveiled. The collection featured beautiful drapery and form-fitting dresses.
